Josephine Lai
Josephine Lai grew up in Hong Kong and went to college in London. Since moving to the United States to pursue a career in the biosciences, she has lived and worked in Tucson, Arizona, since 1988. Retirement from academia brought Josephine back to her life-long love of art and design, which she now pursues full-time.

Josephine creates ceramic sculptures as well as tableware forms that serve as three dimensional canvases. She draws inspiration from the Sonoran Desert, the Sea of Cortez, wherever she travels and, a life time of collecting images in her head.

Josephine's other preoccupations include wild life and nature photography, particularly of birds and insects, Chinese brush painting of the Nin Nan school and calligraphy, and hand made jewelry.
