CABIN
BAGGAGE TRIAL
For the month of August,
Wizz Air is testing a new cabin
baggage policy to enhance
on-time performance and
improve the overall customer
travel experience. The test
will run on all flights between
London Luton and Katowice.
This trial is in response to
a growing concern in the
short-haul industry that too
many carry-on bags are being
brought into the cabin for the
space available, so bags have
to be routinely off-loaded,
causing delays. Customers
are now encouraged to bring
smaller bags on board.
Passengers booking seats on
the trial route can travel with
a free small cabin bag, or pay
€10 online (€20 at check-in
and €30 at the gate) to bring
a large cabin bag on board.
Those who pay to take large
cabin baggage on board will
benefit from early boarding
which guarantees them space
for their large bags in the
overhead compartments.
Only one bag per passenger is
permitted in accordance with
existing Wizz Air policy.
Small bags are defined as 42
x 32 x 25cm or less, and weigh
a maximum of 10kg. Anything
larger, and you must pay to
take it in the cabin, though
the maximum size is 55 x 40 x
20cm, and weight allowance
again 10kg. Goods that are
purchased at the airport will be
allowed in the cabin for free.
LUBLIN’S NEW
ROUTES TO THE UK
AND NORWAY
Wizz Air will start flying from
Lublin, Poland, to and from
London-Luton in the UK and
Oslo in Norway this winter.
The new low-fare routes will
support increased tourism to
Lublin in eastern Poland. Lublin
is known as the “The Capital of
Festivals”, hosting more than
30 major cultural, arts and
music festivals every year.
