Skopje ‘Alexander the Great’ Airport is the largest and busiest of
the two international airports in the Republic of Macedonia, and a
new terminal was opened one year ago this September, along with
an extension of the runway, new administrative building and a new
access road with parking facilities. It is located 17km southeast of
the national capital Skopje in the Municipality of Petrovec.
Skopje, in the heart of the Balkan Peninsula, is the cultural hub
of Macedonia with many of the country’s most important museums
devoted to preserving classical, traditional and contemporary art.
