TheVasaMuseum
STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN
Vasa is theonly preserved
seventeenth-century ship
in theworld. Some98%of
the ship is original and it is
decoratedwithhundreds
of carved sculptures. The
warship sankon itsmaiden
voyage in 1628, andwas
salvaged333 years later. It has
beenpainstakingly restored
to a state approaching its
original glory. Themuseum
houses the ship and 11
permanent exhibitions that tell
the story of Vasa.
