OurUnitedExpress regional partner
airlines support theUnited routenet-
work throughout theU.S.,Mexico, and
Canada. Thesepartners operateavari-
etyof smaller aircraft to serve smaller
markets or provideadditional flights
to supplement ourmainline service.
In 2014, we began introducing
two-cabin 76-seat Embraer 175
(E175) aircraft into theUnited
Express fleet to replace our smaller
single-cabin 50-seat regional jet
aircraft. With ongoing additions, we
plan to have 153 E175s in our fleet
by2017.
To help further our sustainability
efforts and commitment to the en-
vironment, the E175s are equipped
with largerwinglets that allow them
to consume less fuel and emit less
carbon dioxide per seat than the
aircraft they’re replacing.
The E175’s cabin layout features
wider seats and aisles, plus over-
head bins that can accommodate
standard-size carry-on bags.
These aircraft offer more comfort-
able seating compared to the
50-seat regional jets, and they
have 12 United First® seats,
16 Economy Plus® seats and 48
United Economy® seats, so almost
37 percent of the seating offers
extra legroom. Tomake flight
time evenmore enjoyable, we
are installing personal device
entertainment and UnitedWi-Fi
SM
connectivity on all E175s, and each
seat in the United First cabin is
equippedwith in-seat power.
These aircraft are nowflying
throughout our United Express net-
work, and new E175swill be added
to serve additional routes over the
next few years.
