Laser Power
Fiber lasers use high-power laser diodes to stimulate active medium and pump optical fiber with laser light.
An optical fiber laser bends the light by refraction. An optical fiber cable transmits light through an impure transparent silica core. The core is then covered with cladding. This is another layer of silica, doped with additional materials to lower its refractive index. Due to their differing refractive indexes, light will be refracted at the core-clad interface.
