Louis Blanchat was born on August 17, 1856 in Black Creek, Holmes County, Ohio; Another source gives his birthdate as 17 Aug 1859.1 He was the son of Lawrence Blanchard and Marguerite Duplain. He married Anna Saunier, daughter of Steven Saunier and Mary Euphasina Gaume, on September 4, 1883 in St Marys, Pottawatomie County, Kansas; Sponsers: Frank Bakule & Catharine Blanchat.2 He died on July 3, 1913 in Danville, Harper County, Kansas, at age 56.
He is the son of Lawrence & Margaret Blanchard. They were found in the 1870 Census Ohio, Holmes Co., Richland Twnshp. They have a son, Lewis, age 14. This would make the year of his birth as 1856. Black Creek, Holmes Co. was later called Napoleon and is now called Glenmont.
