More Information About Matthews, NC
Matthews is a town in southeastern Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It is a suburb of Charlotte. The population was 27,198 according to the 2010 Census.
In the early 19th century, the early settlement that would become Matthews was unofficially named Stumptown for the copious amount of tree stumps left from making way for cotton farms. The community’s name later changed to Fullwood, named after appointed area postmaster John Miles Fullwood. The establishment of a sawmill and the cotton and timber industry helped Fullwood change into a town. Prior to the first train arriving on December 15, 1874, Fullwood acted as a stagecoach stop between Charlotte and Monroe. The town was incorporated into a municipal corporation in 1879 and was renamed Matthews for Edward Watson Matthews, a prominent resident, and director of the Central Carolina Railroad, which would later become known as the Seaboard Air Line Railroad.[5][6]
The Seaboard Air Line fell into Seaboard On July 1, 1967. Seaboard then merged with Chessie System to create CSX (Chessie Seaboard X)

If the eyes are installed higher, an individual or family pet could get under the beam and not be found by the photo eyes.
The wall push button for your garage door opener need to be installed a minimum of 5 feet above the floor, out of the reach of children. Running under a closing door can be a lethal game. Teach your children never ever to have fun with opening and closing the door. Do You Know Where Your Remote Controls Are? For the reasons simply discussed, keep the push-button controls for your openers where children can not have fun with them.
For security reasons, make sure to keep your push-button controls secured. If you park a car outside your garage, make sure to lock your cars and truck so that possible robbers can not access your remote control and gain easy access to your garage. Rolling Codes. Some burglars have the ability to “tape-record” your transmitter’s signal.
Nevertheless, if your transmitter (the remote control) has rolling code technology, the code changes after every use. This renders the burglars’ controls worthless. Contact your garage door opener producer or your regional garage door dealer for additional information. TESTING AND KEEPING THE GARAGE DOOR OPENERConsult the owner’s handbook for additional advised maintenance for your model of door opener.

Reversal TestMake sure your opener has a reversing feature. If a reversing function is not present, the opener must be replaced. Garage door openers produced after January 1, 1993, are needed by federal law to have advanced security features that adhere to the newest UL (Underwriters Laboratories) 325 requirements. Contact your producer or installer for extra information.
Check the reversing function on a monthly basis. First, test the balance of the door. If the door is correctly stabilized, then proceed. 2. With the door totally open, place a 1-1/2″ thick piece of wood (a 2″ X 4″ laid flat) on the flooring in the center of the door. 3.
The door needs to reverse when it strikes the blockage. (Note that the bottom part of “one-piece doors” should be rigid so that the door will not close, but will reverse when it contacts the obstruction.) 4. If the door does not reverse, have it fixed or replaced. Have a certified service technician change, fix, or replace the opener or door.
If the door does not reverse easily, the force setting might be excessive and require adjusting. See your owner’s handbook for details on how to make the change. Do not try to repair or adjust torsion springs yourself. A limiting cable television or other device must be set up on the extension spring (the spring along the side of the door) to help contain the spring if it breaks. Never remove, change, or loosen the screws on the bottom brackets of the door.
Routinely oil the moving parts of the door. However, do not oil plastic idler bearings. Seek advice from the door owner’s handbook for the manufacturer’s recommendation. Door BalancePeriodically test the balance of your door. Start with the door closed. If you have a garage door opener, use the release system so you can operate the door by hand when doing this test.
It needs to remain open around 3 or four feet above the flooring. If it does not, it runs out change. Have it changed by a certified service person.
