Your captain will instruct you on the best method of entering the water and seeing the dolphins up close and personal. Reaching out to or swimming towards the dolphins is not allowed. We employ the most ethical way of interacting with them by swimming parallel with them and also let them come willingly towards us.
Our purpose is to serve a purpose. We provide Panama City Beach dolphin tours that are educational and allow for a better appreciation and understanding of wildlife. We take precautions to ensure that we don't disturb or harm wildlife. We will be grateful to the dolphins for choosing an eco-tour operator who cares.
Instead of swimming in front of the dolphins (which is illegal), we will swim parallel with them, instead of reaching out for them (which also violates the law). This will allow them to approach us ethically.
Relax and unwind while your private USCG captain/tour guide takes you to watch some breathtaking sunsets and views that can only be seen on the water. Bring your favorite beverage & or snacks if you like while you enjoy the evening.
You'll be able watch the dolphins up close with the help of your captain.
It was a great way for a day to be spent! I took my 22-year old son and two of his friends on a half-day trip. The day was great and the pontoon boat was great. Rob was great! Everyone had the best time.
MAXIMUM 13 guests (includes all children) on each boat according to Coast Guard regulations, except for the larger Family Cruiser which has 13 passengers
Your privacy will always be guaranteed when you take a private dolphin tour. There will only ever be your family or friends on board, along with the captain. Keep in Mind that the Coast Guard sets the maximum number of passengers at 13. All ages welcome.
Panama City dolphin tours and Shell Island trips with St. Andrews Bay Charters are small, private charters, for a maximum of 12 guests (no more than 13 per boat). This not only allows for a much more intimate and interactive experience but also a safer trip since you won’t be sharing the boat with anyone outside your party.
We had a wonderful time. The captain was awesome. Even showed us a type of jelly fish that doesn't sting. We stopped at an area of shell island that had lots of shells. Great time was had by all and will definitely go back again.
Rent a pontoonboat for the day and be your own captain! We have pontoon boats for rent for visitors who wish to be their captain. Our Map will be sent to you with the directions to our favourite snorkeling spots, sandbars and common dolphin areas.
Our boats are actual dive boats so the children will love finding and seeing the dolphins and having the opportunity to snorkel in the water just like a real SCUBA diver.

Dolphins are most active at dawn, between 10 a.m. and noon, and from 2 p.m. to dusk. A good pair of telephoto lenses or binoculars can be extremely useful for spotting dolphins.
Islamorada and Key Largo are popular locations for seeing the animals in the wild. The Florida Keys are a popular breeding ground for dolphins, so you can see them all year.
