MIX AND MATCH We’ve all been there. You find a plant you really love at a garden center, but it doesn’t quite jive with the other plants you’ve selected for your container. By potting each plant up individually and giving each one its own space, you can get away with grouping plants that wouldn’t typically grow together. Polish the look by using a group of containers that share one or more characteristics. The easiest method is to stick to one material and color, like the glazed white containers in the photo above. Similarly, those pictured at left are all unified by their earthy tones and textures. 15
