The following requirements are needed to connect SSAS using Syncfusion libraries:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services 10.0 OleDb Provider

On Server:

    Web Server:

  • Microsoft Internet information server (IIS)
  • .NET Framework 4.0
  • ADOMD.NET and OleDb Provider(unless SSAS is installed in the web server itself)

   SSAS:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008 Analysis Service, or any other XMLA-compatible server

On Development machine:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Analysis Services 10.0 OleDb Provider

Essential Studio controls and components can be used in any .NET environment, including C# and VB.NET.

Configuring the Sample Data Source

This utility allows you to configure the data source for the samples shipped in Essential Studio BI install. By default, the installer configures the sample data source to an offline cube shipped here: $(SamplePath)$\EssentialStudio\9.2.0.138\Common\Data\OfflineCube.

Alternatively, you can install Microsoft sample data warehouse database, Adventure Works DW, and point the same to the samples.

Licensing

We do not have run-time licensing for all Essential Studio products; currently, Syncfusion has only a design-time license.
