If
you are using the Powerschool API integration, HMH recommends you convert
to Clever, ClassLink, or an alternative rostering solution as this API
cannot support ingestion of administrators, multiple roles, demographics,
student program characteristics, or additional IDs. If you are using MAP/NWEA,
this means you cannot view reports or share data on any assessments. You
could complete the testing window and then update demographic data for
a historical term using NWEA Flat file import, but this is not recommended.
Consider moving to Clever/ClassLink or an alternative rostering method
to enhance your features and program use needs.
Be sure you are on the latest version of PowerSchool.
The login page to your PowerSchool software should contain your version
information. If you need additional assistance or need to upgrade, please
contact Powerschool or visit your Powersource
website.
Caution: Note the following commonly missed steps:
● Must be on PowerSchool v20.11 or more recent version
● Must install the ZIP file on the PowerSchool server not the XML file. Many browsers may auto-extract the XML file, but the ZIP file is what we require to be installed on your PowerSchool server. If you install the XML file, all will look like it is working in PowerSchool, but connection to our software will fail.
● Must enable the agent (default is disabled in PS)
Login Related Information● The default setting for Teacher username field is the teacherLoginId from the teacher's table. We recommend that you consider using email as an alternative, given that it is the most likely common username tied to SSO. ● The default setting for Student username field is the student_web_id from the student's table. We recommend that you consider using email as an alternative, given that it is the most likely common username tied to SSO. ● Password field is not passed over as part of the rostering integration; instead HMH assigns random passwords. HMH recommends that you consider using single sign on (SSO) for all accounts, where possible, for the best in security and ease of use for your users. If you do not plan to use SSO, then your teachers should use the "forgot password" option to reset their own passwords. Once inside the product, they can then change the passwords for their students and share credentials. |
