DIVORCE PROCEEDINGS IN JAMAICA

In accordance with Jamaican law, a lawful marriage can only be dissolved by a Decree Absolute issued by a court with appropriate authority or by the passing of one of the parties. Because the death ipso facto ends the marriage, a divorce is not necessary when one partner passes away.
