Meet Debi Pearl

Pearl digs deep into history to retell a story that has affected people for fifty years and counting. In Listen to My Dream she wrote another rhythmic story about the life of Martin Luther King Jr.

Growing up during the segregation period, Debi was affected and perturbed by the way people would look at her when she assisted wounded African American soldiers in town. She decided to create a book full of art and history to pass on the story for generations to come. As she grew up, she knew it would be essential to speak up about controversial issues as she has in many of her works.
