This is how I got on the first page of Google

One of my websites is a small business niche interest online shop selling fishing flies. I am based in London but 90% of my customers come from the USA. I have hundreds of products and most of them can be found on the first page of Google's search results page. I have not employed a fancy Search Engine Optimization company to perform this miracle. I have not used any underhand "Black Hat" techniques. I managed this result all on my own. You can do the same for your small business website. It will need a lot of work on your behalf but it will be worth it if you want your website to attract more traffic and paying customers. I have customers from all over the world.

This image shows how my shop product had three entries on page one of Google SERP

The above image shows a real unaltered screen print of the first page of a Google search engine result page for the search term "Crazy Charlie Fly". This is the name of one of my products. The photograph that is circled in red is mine. It is the one that is on my Crazy Charlie page. I also have two pages in the number two and three position for the same search term. For a small company that is amazing. Big companies pay thousands to get these sort of results. You can do it to if you put the time and effort into altering the construction of your website to comply with what Google wants. Some of my critics will be saying "Oh that is easy to do if you use an obscure keyword search term". The name of this fishing fly is not obscure. There are thousands of fishing tackle websites selling the same fly pattern. Every flyfisherman that goes to the Caribbean to try his skill at catching Bonefish uses a Crazy Charlie fly. The competition to rank well for this keyword is high.

My website is on the front page of Google's Search result page because it rich in text unlike my compertition

Have a look at the above two websites. The one on the left is the English Fly Fishing Shops page on the Pink Crazy Charlie Bonefish Fly. That is my website. The one on the right is one of my competitors websites. We are both selling exactly the same product, although mine is a bit cheaper. What is the difference?

Yes you have guessed it. My page on the left has a lot of product information. I have included useful facts about the history of the fishing fly, who made it and how to use it. Matt Cutts the head of Google webspam will be happy because I have more than 500 word of content on my page. My competitor just has two sentences to describe the product he is selling. This is why I found his website on page 25 of Google. No one looks past the second page of search results.

To succeed you need to add 300-500 words of product description on every page. You cannot get away from this fact. It is very hard to produce that amount of copy. If you are too busy or do not have the necessary skills you may have to employ someone to do the keyword research and typing for you. If you forget everything else in this SEO tutorial you must not forget that you need between 3-4 paragraphs of unique interesting high quality text on every page on your website to have the slightest hope of getting a high position in Google's search engine results page SERP.
