Becoming Collaborative: Examining the Development of Early Collaborative Problem-Solving Capacities

Collaborative problem-solving contributes to equitable learning opportunities and conceptual understanding. Yet, collaboration is hard for children learning to negotiate the social world. Drawing on a recent study, we present a K-5 continuum of the social negotiation skills crucial for collaboration and discuss how teachers can support students.
