Using Letter-Writing to Deepen Mathematical Understandings

Description

Letter-writing activities, in which mathematics students exchange written correspondence around a mathematical task, can provide opportunities for students to deepen their mathematical understandings. For example, exposure to different ways of thinking about a task can elicit new thinking. This session will explore these affordances.
