What Can Young Children's Representations of Counting Tell Us about Their Mathematical Thinking?
Description
Observing pre-K and kindergarten children count and asking them to explain helps teachers make sense of children's mathematical thinking. Based on a research study, this session will explore how teachers can make sense of young children's mathematical thinking from children's representations of counting on paper, outside pressures of the classroom.
