History: This modest farmhouse was built for Ben Tufts and his wife Edie. Ben was the son-in-law of Charles Terry, who lived in the older house directly west. The Tufts were living in the house at least into the 1920’s. They had no heirs, but arranged an agreement with Edwin Sherman who made payments on the place. Eventually, Sherman acquired the property. Alterations over the years have increased the size of the house, particularly the mobile home that was attached in 1983.
