History: Jacob Straub, a local blacksmith, built this house c. 1890. He also constructed several structures on Front Street in Coupeville. The structure has been extensively remodeled over the last few years. The hip-roofed porch which extended across the south façade has been removed, the original windows replaced, and new porches added. The structure no longer retains integrity of design, materials and workmanship.

Description: Vernacular Farmhouse. Wood frame set on concrete/concrete block foundation; L-shape; 1 ½-stories; shiplap siding with stone facing on lower south façade; wood-shingled gable roof with extended eaves; corbelled interior chimney.
