History: This house was built for Captain Thomas Kinney, one of the sea captains who settled in Coupeville in the ninetieth century. The original house was the small gable roof section to the north. The three gable roof sections on the south façade were individual small buildings that were attached to the house at a later date. The original wrap-around porch was enclosed on the east façade and incorporated into the house. The Zylstra family lived in the house for several years in the early twentieth century.

Description: Vernacular residence. Wood frame set on post and block foundation; rectangle; 4 bays wide; 1-story; clapboard siding; asphalt-shingled gable roof with 3 intersecting gable roof sections; corbelled center chimney.
