History: On September 11, 1893 Dr. W.L. White purchased a tract of land for $400 in Coupeville. By 1894, a house had been built for White by H.B. Lovejoy. Dr. White was county coroner from 1890 to 1898 and elected as Representative for Island County in 1898. The house was next owned by C.H. Lyon. Lyon, a painter/realtor by profession, was elected as Coupeville’s first mayor. He planted a large orchard behind the house, and lived here until the 1920’s.

Description: Queen Anne Residence. Wood frame set on stone and concrete foundation; T-shape with shed roof addition and intersecting cross gable section; 2 bays wide; 1 1/2-stories; shiplap siding; wood-shingled hip roof; corbelled center chimney.
