History: Moses Mock built this house in 1904. Henry and Eva Fair, owners of Prairie Center Mercantile, lived in the house during the 1910-1920’s. The next owner was Mr. Rinker. James Cook purchased the house in 1950 and lived there until 1972. The exterior appearance of the house has remained essentially unaltered over the years.

Description: Vernacular Residence with Italianate elements. Wood frame set on post and block/concrete foundation; 1-story hip roof addition on east façade; 3 bays wide; 2-stories; shiplap siding; asphalt shingled gable roof with extended eaves; off-center interior corbelled chimney. Exterior features include 1/1 double-hung sash with plain surrounds and decorative sill; decorative wood shutters; 1-story, 3-sided bay on south façade.
