History: This house was built c. 1893. The Bearss family purchased the house with two acres in 1910. They constructed the addition on the east façade. In 1951, the house was sold to the Barretts. Since that time, the windows have been replaced, the front door moved from farther north on the same façade, and the original siding covered with composition siding. The barn located on the property pre-dates the house.
Description: Vernacular farmhouse. Wood frame set on post and block foundation; L-shape with shed roof addition on east façade; 4 bays wide; 1 1/2 stories; asbestos shingle siding; wood-shingled gable roof; exterior end chimney on south façade. Exterior features include 1-pane fixed sash; 1/2 double-hung sash with plain surrounds.
