History: This house was built in 1888 for Dr. Joshua Highwarden, a local physician and druggist. Following his death in 1892, the property was sold by a sheriff’s sale to Thomas Cranney and Joseph Clapp. Few changes have been made to the exterior of the house over the years with the exception of enclosing the rear porch.

Description: Vernacular Farmhouse with Queen Anne elements. Wood frame set on post and block/stone foundation; irregular; 3 bays wide; 2-stories; shiplap siding with fishscale shingles on gable ends; wood-shingled gable roof with cross gables on north, south facades; corbelled center chimney.
