History: John Leach, local businessman, built this house in 1883 and used it as the Headquarters Saloon as well as his personal residence. In 1886, Coupeville became a “dry” town and the liquor license for the Headquarters Saloon was revoked.

Description: Vernacular Residence with Italianate elements. Wood frame set on post and block foundation. 1-story; wood shingle siding; wood-shingled hip roof; with interior chimney. 2/2 double hung sash with molded cornice and plain surrounds; wrap around porch with carved brackets and chamfered posts. Property was subdivided after 1983 and orchard was removed.
