History:  The Hingston House is one of the first buildings constructed in San de Fuca.  At one time, the building had a false front, the first floor serving as commercial space and the second floor as a residence.  The Hingston family operated the general store at San de Fuca from 1920-1940’s, and lived in this house during that time.  The house remains in the family and is currently a rental house.

Description:  Vernacular farmhouse with bungalow elements.  Wood frame set on post and block foundation;  rectangle  (20’ x 36’) :  4 bays wide; 1 1/2 –stories.
