After watching a dozen of these videos…
…I started researching about this dropcam mentioned in many of them. But I quickly found out it wasn’t the best option.
Here are some of the problems often mentioned by users:
- The connection is unstable and sometimes, you simply can’t turn on the camera remotely: one user said it’s called dropcam because it drops the signal every 60 seconds 🤣
- It’s actually quite expensive at $195 for the basic model
- It requires a monthly subscription for cloud storage ($29.95 / month)
- It’s recording in HD ONLY in the high-end $399 model… which also comes with a monthly fee
- Support is very slow, in average 3 or 4 days for getting a reply
- A good portion of the time, it’s not possible to view past footage (even as recent as the last 7 days)
