Broadcast System Overview
Previous Topic  Next Topic

A broadcast system utilizes a sequence of fully configured orders to be assembled and completed at a given takt time. This sequence is communicated to the supplying MRP Areas one order at a time using broadcast codes or part numbers. The broadcast can be viewed as the drum that communicates the pace at which orders are being produced.

The broadcast system communicates the required information to internal and external suppliers to answer the following questions:

  1. What assemblies or components are required for each production unit?
  2. What information is required to properly assemble the production unit?
  3. To which linefeed location should the parts be delivered?
  4. In what sequence are the parts required?
