Defining a Broadcast Code
Previous Topic  Next Topic

The broadcast code default for any item required to build a product is the item number.   However, for easier identification of the item, a custom broadcast code or short description can be used instead.   A broadcast code could represent a variant of an item that is being sequenced to the line.  A broadcast code could be the slot number of the rack that the sequenced item will be found. A broadcast code could also be a special operator code to provide instruction for assembling a product.

To define a broadcast code:

  1. Access the Broadcast Code session.
  2. Search for the e-item to update.
  3. Enter the new Broadcast Code
  4. Click Save All Changes.

In the example below, the default e-item number has been replaced with "GN" a short description that will appear on a broadcast sheet in the broadcast position STD-2-4-Brand.
