A production string is an assembled list of orders that are to be scheduled for a production line. The orders in the production string are time slotted based on the production calendar to determine the scheduled completion time for each order. Production strings are downloaded from a production constraint system into the FMRP Workbench or from the FMRP  Master Production Schedule.
