INSTEAD OF ASKING TO BE
'FRIENDS' ON FACEBOOK.
Because of misuses of 'friends' lists on Facebook,
I suggest that other users of Facebook
limit their number of Facebook 'friends'.
Sometimes, we agree to connections on the Internet
that allow organizations to gather the names
of all of our Facebook 'friends'.
I have now 'unfriended' about half
of my former 'friends' on Facebook.
From now on, I will limit my 'friends' on Facebook
just to the people I have actually met.
It makes more sense for Facebook users
to join or 'like' one of the Groups or Pages above
than to ask to be my 'friend' on Facebook.
These more specific
connections
focus our common interests in specific areas.
And neither of us gets everything the other posts.
All of the Pages and Groups listed
welcome comments about any issues raised there.
These are the ideal places to
engage in discussions.
I respond to all comments in these Groups and Pages.
I routinely ignore 'friend' requests on Facebook.
Being part of a Facebook Group or 'liking' a Facebook Page
does not expose one to having his or her name gathered
---as sometimes happens with our Facebook 'friends'.
And we know in each specific context
what issues are relevant.
And, finally, here is a complete list of all my books,
