NEW WAYS OF LOVING:
HOW AUTHENTICITY TRANSFORMS RELATIONSHIPS
Facebook Seminar

    This electronic discussion group empowers
people living all over the planet Earth
to discuss a book that upends most of the established patterns
of 'love' as it has developed in the Western world.

    New Ways of Loving
challenges most assumptions about love
and replaces them with new forms of loving relationships:
Romantic love, sexual attraction, & conventional marriage
are replaced by new relationships beginning with our self-inventing selves.
We can love freely instead of imposing obligations.
We can love without needing, possessiveness, or jealousy.
We can love beyond our imprinted sexual fantasies
and our enculturated gender-personalities.
We can weigh the pros and cons of having children.

This on-line seminar will discuss 8 themes of love
as these questions apply to our own lives.
Over a period of eight weeks,
we will read and discuss the following chapters from
New Ways of Loving:
How Authenticity Transforms Relationships.

(Chapter titles in blue below
can be clicked to begin reading that chapter.)

Thus, you will also need a copy of the book,

Others will borrow copies from libraries.

Reading will take one or two hours per week.

OUR DISCUSSION BOOK: NEW WAYS OF LOVING:
HOW AUTHENTICITY TRANSFORMS RELATIONSHIPS

The printed book for this Facebook Seminar is New Ways of Loving.
The complete table of contents will appear if you click this line:
https://s3.amazonaws.com/aws-website-jamesleonardpark---freelibrary-3puxk/NWL.html
From this table of contents you can open several pages of the book.

This book is available in three different bindings:
(1) comb binding, (2) screw-post binding, or (3) loose-leaf notebook.
(2015: Only the screw-post binding remains for the whole book.
But some copies of the first 8 chapters in a folder without a cover
can be bought for $10.)

Or you can obtain a PDF of the 8 chapters to be discussed for $8,
plus $2 if you pay by electronic means.

This new electronic book option began in 2012:
For readers who do not mind reading these chapters on their computer screens,
a Portable Digital File (PDF) is now available.

    The PDF version is double-spaced,
which makes it about twice as many pages as the printed versions.
And the pages do not look quite the same as the printed book.
But all of the content is identical.

    The cost is
$8 for the first eight chapters of the book.
If you wish to pay by electronic means, the cost rises to $10.
Payment by check or money-order keeps the cost down to $8.
There is no charge for postage or handling,
since your pages will be sent to our e-mail address electronically.

In order to confirm that your e-mail program can receive PDF documents,
the author will sent you a PDF that lists many of his books.
This includes complete details about how to pay for
Chapters 1-8 of New Ways of Loving: How Authenticity Transforms Relationships
to be sent to your computer as a PDF.

Many readers decide to buy the whole book as two PDFs.
The total cost is $14 for the book, plus $4 for electronic payment.
This delivers the two PDFs to your e-mail in-box for a total of $18.

For this test of your PDF capacity, send your preferred e-mail address to:
parkx032@umn.edu

In the same e-mail, you can ask any questions, explain where you live,
or suggest other ways of paying for whatever books you want to read.

OTHER OPTIONS FOR READING AND DISCUSSING:

Of course, it is always possible for anyone to read the book
without joining the Facebook Group.
Readers who live in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota,
will have the opportunity to join
a face-to-face discussion of love from time to time.

Everyone who joins the Facebook Seminar
will also be informed about face-to-face gatherings in the Twin Cities.

Our Facebook Group is another way
for people living in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota
to express their interest in having a face-to-face seminar in the Twin Cities.
The Facebook Group offers a place in "Files"
to sign up for the face-to-face gathering in Minneapolis.
Once about 100 people have joined our Facebook Group,
we will ask how many live near enough and would be interested
in having a face-to-face gathering to discuss this book.
Here is the description of how this in-person seminar will proceed.

Our Facebook Group allows people living anywhere on the planet Earth
to participate from their own keyboards and computer screens.
They might later join a face-to-face discussion of love.
Or it might happen the other way around:
People who have already participated in the in-person seminar
might decide to join the Facebook Group.

The Facebook Seminar will begin
once 100 people have joined the Facebook Group.
The face-to-face seminar (five weeks) will begin
when 20 people in the Twin Cities have indicated that they plan to attend.

People who meet on-line in our discussions of love
might be able to create other face-to-face seminars
at other locations on the Earth.

What other ideas occur to you?

This electronic approach will be modified to suit those who wish to join.
