The birding tour was quite interesting and got us out to a number of different parks and habitats we might not have explored on our own, including the island of Pag (known for its rocky terrain, salt flats, and cheese), Vransko Jezero, Krka National Park, the area surrounding Trogir, the Cetine river (river, its source, and the delta), and lastly - and maybe the highlight - a day boat trip out to Lastovo. We were fortunate also to be joined on the tour by Ray Tipper, a bird photographer and guide with Avian Adventures, who was scoping out the area for a tour offering through his company next year.
Also need to mention here the very helpful ladies of Val Tours - Nataša Opanović (owner/organizer extraordinaire!) and Natali Vilić.
Returning to Brač felt like "coming home" after our visit there last year. We came across on the ferry with our rental car, not without a little excitement (I thought the ticket agent in Split said "line up at 12:30" - what he really meant was "ferry LEAVES at 12:30"...). The 12:30 ferry was not on the schedule, so we had momentary fears that we were headed to Italy...but we went safely to Supetar. We once again stayed in the town of Postire - Supetar being a little busy...and explored the island, visiting Selca, Sumartin, Pučišća, Supetar, and Vidova Gora (the highest point on the islands).
