Generating a Virtual Machines Summary Report
The Virtual Machines Summary Report displays a list of virtual machines in a VMware vCenter Server environment on your network.
To generate a Virtual Machines Summary Report:
1. On the Tools menu, point to LAN Storage Discovery, and then click Virtual Summary Report.
2. To scan a VMware vCenter Server:
a) In the VM Type box, select VMware.
b) In the vCenter box, type the IP address of the VMware vCenter Server that you want to scan.
c) In the User Name and Password boxes, enter the credentials of a user with sufficient privileges on the VMware vCenter Server.
d) Click Discover Machines.
3. To scan a Microsoft Hyper-V Server:
a) In the VM Type box, select Hyper-V.
b) In the Host box, type the IP address of the Microsoft Hyper-V Server that you want to scan.
c) In the User Name and Password boxes, enter the credentials of a user with sufficient privileges on the Microsoft Hyper-V Server.
d) Click Discover Machines.
4. To perform an additional scan to obtain more detailed information, select the virtual machines, and then click Get Machine Properties.
NOTE: To select multiple virtual machines, use CTRL+SHIFT or click Select All.
5. To view the information in a report, click Virtual Access Report, and then do the following:
a) To select time intervals for sorting the information, click New Report.
a) Click Add.
b) Select the color that you want to view in the graph for the report.
c) In the Modified Time box, enter a report interval.
NOTE: To remove a report interval, select the interval, and then click Remove.
d) In the Center / Host box, specify if you want to view all virtual machines or only VMware vCenter Servers.
e) Click OK.
6. Click Close.
