Configuring the DS-Client : Managing system activities : Recovering orphaned backup sets

Recovering orphaned backup sets
It is possible, for some backup sets to become 'orphaned' on DS-System. This means the backup data exists on DS-System, but the settings have somehow been lost from the DS-Client's database. (This is possible if the DS-Client database is deleted, overwritten with an older version, or damaged.)
The Event Log will have Backup Set not found in Backup Log errors, if this has occurred. These will appear on Daily Admin or Weekly Admin activities.
Click System Activities > Repair DS-Client Database > Orphaned backup sets to Repair to repair the missing database information. This does not restore backup data; it recreates any missing backup sets in the DS-Client database.
Once the backup sets are recovered, you can perform restores immediately.
However, to resume backups, you must re-specify all of the information (backup items, schedule, etc.) using one of the following options:
Option A. Migrate
See “Migrating a backup set”.
Option B. Re-specify the backup set's information individually.
Step 1. Specify the connection information (network credentials) for a recovered backup set
Step 2. Respecify the backup set's backup items
Step 3. Respecify the backup set's backup schedule
Step 4. Activating the recovered backup set
Recovering a backup set
1. Click Setup > System Activities.
The System Activities Administration screen appears.
2. Click Repair.
The Repair DS-Client screen appears.
F1 Help: "Repair DS-Client screen"
3. Select Orphaned backup sets. Click OK.
The Backup Set Recovery screen appears.
4. Select the backup set to recover.
F1 Help: "Backup Set Recovery screen"
NOTE:  Microsoft Office 365 backup sets will be displayed under a blank server name in the selection tree, because backup sets in Office 365 use domain names for sorting. These domain names form a part of the credentials which are not configured for orphaned sets. These credentials are supplied during the migration process. Office 365 orphaned sets that have not yet gone through migration, will be listed under a blank server name in the Backup Sets section of the main DS-User dialog.
5. In the Recovery Info screen, select the appropriate User Name and/or Network Provider for the backup set.
F1 Help: "Recovery Info screen"
6. Click Save to save the Recovery Info profile as specified.
7. In the Backup Set Recovery screen, click Recover.
The backup set will be recovered and Synchronized.
8. Open the Backup Sets screen and the recovered set(s) appear in suspended status (grayed out).
Once you have recovered the backup sets, you may restore files (to alternate location) at any time.
To perform backups you must ensure that the Computer Name, Connect As, Backup Items, and Backup Schedule information are complete.
For backup sets missing the Computer Name information, you must Migrate the backup set from <Unknown> to the actual provider name.
9. In the Backup Sets screen, Activate the backup set.
