Managing backup sets : Migrating a backup set

Migrating a backup set
There may be situations when you will change the network provider (Microsoft Windows Network, NetWare, etc.); rename the computer that contains the source data or change its operating system; or change the physical location of the source data.
When you make those changes, you will need to migrate a backup set to its new source location.
1. In the Backup Sets tree, right-click the required backup set and select Migrate.
The Migrate Backup Set Wizard appears.
2. Browse and select the new network / node path to which you want to migrate this backup set as the new source location and click Next.
If the option Ask for network credentials is selected, the Enter Network Credentials screen appears.
3. Enter the user name, password, and source server (if applicable) from which to connect to the selected network / node and click OK.
The Match the source / destination shares screen appears.
4. Match each Source item with a Destination cell and click Next.
F1 Help: "Migrate Shares screen"
The Select directories / files for backup screen appears. The items selected for backup are displayed with their new destination share paths.
5. Ensure that the new path is correct for each backup item, add more items if required, and click Next.
The Specify backup item options screen appears.
6. Select the required options.
Depending on the network you have migrated the backup set to, you may see more or fewer backup options than previously available for this backup set.
7. Click Finish to complete the migration.
The Backup Sets screen re-appears.
8. To verify changes in the backup set that has just migrated, click Sets > Backup Sets > Properties.
9. Synchronize the backup set that has just migrated. (See “Synchronizing a backup set”.)
You can now perform backups and restores with this backup set.
