Premium Antique Glaze Finishes
- Antique Glaze Finish Process
This technique begins with randomly applied compression marks and lightly
over-sanded corners on unfinished doors and drawer fronts with raised center
panels or slab profiles.
Next, the base finish color is applied followed by a glaze flood coat that is
hand-wiped to create a soft, light glaze “hang-up” in corners and profile
recesses.
Then, a glaze highlight is hand-applied to detail the recesses and profiles of
the selected door and drawer design. (
Note
: the selected door/drawer style
will dictate where the highlight detail is applied. The most common area of
application is where the door/drawer center panel meets the rails and stiles).
Because this process features random compression marks, glazing and
highlighting, the detail and look will vary from piece to piece.
Each door design, wood species and glaze finish has its own charming
character and will create a unique one-of-a-kind look
As a final step, our oven-cured DuraKraft Plus™ topcoat is applied to provide
a beautiful and durable furniture finish.
Finish availability may vary by door style. See Finish Availability Chart
