USNA Grads are Heading to Space |
NASA just announced the astronauts named to the first commercial crew flights to and from the International Space Station, and two of them are Naval Academy alumni. CAPT Suni Williams ’87, USN, Maj Nicole Mann ’99, USMC, and seven others are scheduled for multiple missions. See all 54 Academy grads who have been astronauts through the decades. |

2018 Plebe Summer |
The Class of 2022 has officially made it through Plebe Summer, 99 percent unscathed.
Members of the Alumni Association (login required), most notably worried parents, have access to thousands of plebe pictures that were taken all summer long, from sweaty O-courses to swampy drilling on Hospital Point. The struggle was real, and the class was up to it. |

Cyber is Official |
As Hopper Hall goes up, so does the number of midshipmen signing on for a B.S. in Cyber Operations. The Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET recently accredited the program. Midshipmen will participate in hands-on operations beginning their third class year. The Cyber Center remains one of our strategic priorities. |

McCain ’58 and Moran ’81: Surface Reforms |
“As we have seen too often in recent months, the significant shortcomings in our Navy’s readiness can have disastrous results,” McCain said last winter. Since then, a series of reforms have been identified and 111 areas of improvement were found by the Navy via a group led by Vice Chief of Naval Operations ADM Bill Moran ’81, USN. Requested reforms include the YPs. |
