Continuing on from last week's election theme I feel its necessary to focus on the sleaze we've been seeing in the papers.
Firstly it strikes as being a bit odd that only the Tories are being subjected to it. Is the Tory party a club of sexual deviants, mental nutcases and bribe takers with the other parties innocent? I don't think so. This is a concerted mud-slinging campaign co-ordinated quite probably by Labour with some help from Rupert Murdoch. There were Labour and Lib Dem MPs in the Cash for Questions inquiry too. MPs are clearly not representative of our society. For example 20 to 50 of them are gay. Now I've no problem with that, its just that the number is out of proportion for our general populace. Similarly I didn't know that most 40 year olds snogged 17 year old 'friends' in the park as a thank you for campaigning on their behalf.
It seems to me that there is a very cosy atmosphere in parliament where "gentlemen" can dally in all their vices. The minds boggles are what they do which we don't know about. Admittedly The Sun did help confessions out of the 17 year old in question and the Sunday Times has been up to no good trying to frame parties but shouldn't we be getting onto the issues that matter to our nation? Shouldn't MPs be representing us in good faith with a certain degree of morality?
Yes, I thought so.
