There is a serious problem in the UK and Europe as a whole that needs urgent attention.

People are looking at technology from completely the wrong viewpoint. There are some exceptions but as Wired UK's failure showed, they certainly weren't the majority.

The thing is, most people are getting too tied up in the details of technology, the latest enhancement that adds 15Mhz speed to your processor, the latest way to access an API as fast as possible. Naturally we need people to know these things and sure technological advancement can be great fun but we've just got to look at the bigger picture.

We've got to look at the implications of technology socially, politically and economically, then we'll all be good Netizens.
