You wanna know what really, really, really gets me MAD!
Ok, you asked for it! Its ShockWaved sites! They are so slow and 99.99% pointless and unnecessary. Its a proprietary standard which requires expensive authoring software, hefty plug-in downloads and slows web page loading. Anything you can do in ShockWave can be done in Java. Not only does this NOT need meaty plugins but it also works on any platform, unlike ShockWave. And you can write Java in any text editor if you want.
Ok, so a few well placed ShockWave items might be good, but most viewers can't afford to download all the plug-ins etc. and ShockWave supports about 2 platforms, Mac and Win, when its in a good mood. So stick to simplicity is what I say. If you want a wizz bang site use Java, animated GIFs and warn people that they need a T1 line first!
