Star Wars is bursting through the news like a huge writhing worm way out of control! Its everywhere, squeezing its way into everything.
Personally I don't mind but is it really news? Once people know its coming do further articles on it become hype? What purpose are they serving?
Personally I enjoyed Star Wars second only to Star Trek movies and have no problem but I was wondering how non-Star Wars fans felt? Does it seem all too commercialised? I must admit the re-release is a bit suspect, but it makes a good prelude to the new films coming.
What's been most amusing is those critics claiming that Star Wars killed film as it used to be. YES IT DID AND ITS GREAT! Film, like everything else, has to evolve. Star Wars was the culmination of some years of evolving thought which had never gathered the pace to truly break-through. Thank God for Star Wars otherwise movie might never have got to where it is today and those film critics wouldn't have the jobs they currently take for granted!
