We've all seen it. The good, the bad and the ugly homepages.
The ugly are packed with frames filled, Java, Shockwaved pages that take an eternity to load and yet have nothing on! These a just a plain waste of time, bandwidth as well as the effort of the poor delusioned fellow who made them.
The bad can have a good design (sometimes) but are packed with such irrelevant unadulterated rubbish that they are hardly worth reading. Often filled with drivel from some person who thought homepages were just good on the business card. They didn't think about the consequences of someone ACTUALLY looking at their pages. They would have been better off without.
The good are so rare that when you come across them they are such a joy that you want to shout out and tell the world (well everyone else in the room anyway). This is when the web comes into own as a medium. People express themselves fluently and exitedly in text, innovatively use graphics and have links to other great homepages. Great homepages always link to more great ones, similarly bad pages link to bad pages!
Homepages are a chance to express oneself, interact with the web community, show people who and what you are. So many things, the possibilities are without end, so people, please stop uploading drivel.
