FAQs
Being one of their largest expenditures people usually have a plenty of questions before coming to a conclusion , below are a few of the more common ones…
Unless you’re a certified contractor, the majority of roofing tasks should not be performed yourself. Also keep in mind that almost all manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a certified professional performs the work. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof is going to be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?
It would be really good if we could give you a straight forward response to that question! But there actually is no one answer that fits all for every question like that. There are many different products available and each and every one will have its own advantages and faults. To figure out which is the right roof for your home, you should have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they find, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends on the kind of roof and exactly what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we just can’t work on certain days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A smaller home may take about a week or so, whereas much larger industrial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just make sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Due to the fact that your roof is consistently exposed to the weather, this means your roof is going to deteriorate gradually. The speed at which it degrades will depend upon a variety of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial components used along with the workmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any protective minerals that have been added to provide shielding from the elements. Furthermore, you really should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can easily also diminish the lifespan of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning specialist, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will clear away the ugly algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.

Discover More Think about the roofing system as your home’s first line of defense versus all the weather components. Naturally, gradually the roof starts to deteriorate from continued weather condition battering. A structurally sound roof does not fall apart simultaneously but rather falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roof inspections find these weak spots early prior to they spread and trigger severe damage to part or the entire roofing.
Roof inspections at routine periods root out roofing system problems before they can even manifest themselves; extending the life expectancy of your roofing. Many homeowners just take note of their roofs when there is obvious damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Truth is, with regular examination such issues are typically averted.

Roofing evaluations save you both money and time and are among the most basic roofing maintenance practices. There are a number of aspects that can cause a roofing’s condition to degrade with time. These are the effects homeowners are least knowledgeable about because the indications are subtle and take some time to show.: Weather components are the main reason for roofing damage.
The weather gradually rusts and deteriorates the roofing product, and put stress onto the roof structure. Poor or absence of roofing maintenance practices such as cleaning, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping add to the wearing down of the roof. Not all roof professionals are as good as promoted. Due to lack of ability or simply carelessness, a roofing is incorrectly set up, affecting its efficiency as a roof and its durability to damage.
