Concordia Design (ul. Zwierzyniecka 3),
you’ ll be entering the first Polish centre
for innovation, design and creativity for
business. This renovated 19th-century
printing house submerges you in rarified
cool. During the exhibitions, product
launches, training sessions and workshops
for both children and adults, you’ ll get the
chance to meet a host of the city’s creative
talent, as well as rubbing shoulders with
the trendiest crowd in town. The added
bonus is Concordia Taste. Of course it’s
no ordinary restaurant – its
idée fixe
is
creative change – the décor, the tables, the
music the tastes, the music are in a state of

THE HOT SPOT
Another design hub that doesn’t settle
for being just one thing is Spot (ul. Dolna
Wilda 87), a true genius of multitasking,
set in what was once a red-brick power
station. Now it’s home to a boutique
selling the hottest names in Polish fashion,
a photographer, hairdressers, spa, a
restaurant and a wine shop, the place is
the epitome of a concept store, and design
oozes from every brick of its post-industrial
interiors. Complete with a garden and a
sandy beach, Spot offers relaxation as well
as creative fun. Learn how to make sushi
or perfect tarts on the much talked about
culinary workshops, or simply sit back with
friends and enjoy the beautiful objects
around you while sipping a coffee.

BLOW UP YOUR MIND
Perhaps the ultimate design experience
is Poznan’s Blow-Up Hall (ul. Kosciuszki
32). Best leave your cardboard chair
outside before entering here, though.
Jam-packed with sleek futuristic designer
furniture and structured around an
interactive digital installation by electronic
artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, it’s more
a living work of art than a hotel. The
50 50 Bar is all mauve lighting, leather
seats, brick walls and hexagonal shapes.
This five-star combination of hi-tech
design and luxury is too sophisticated for
such mundane things as numbers for its
22 rooms or even keys – the guests are
given iPhones with which to open their
individually designed rooms!
