“Try to explore Japan for a
year,” my husband told me
when I accepted a job in
Tokyo. That was five years ago.
Yokohama is now our second
home and I really can’t imagine
living anywhere else.
I have since adapted to the
fast-paced rhythm of the city
and expanded my network.
And I still get to visit the
Philippines once or twice a
year to be with my family over
Christmas and New Year.
The people here are
naturally friendly and always try
to speak English and make you
feel welcome. I love that even
though Yokohama is an urban
area, it’s spacious and green. It’s
clean everywhere and it’s a safe
place to live. Plus, the customer
service is awesome. Just like
back at home.
