CEB announced its full support for Cesar
Guarin, father of ultra marathon running in
the Philippines, as he aims to conquer over
42,000
km across the world in the “Global
Run: Takbong Alay sa Pilipino at sa Buong
Mundo”.
Guarin said that he had always been
inspired by the hard work and resiliency of
overseas Filipinos. “Going on this global run
is a way to let them know that their efforts
are appreciated,” he said.

only is Guarin’s cause a worthy endeavor
to support, his global run is aligned with
CEB’s core mission, which is to serve the
Filipino communities overseas.

Filipinos based in the Middle East are in for
a treat as Cebu Pacific Air and GMA Pinoy
TV team up for the 100 Lucky Juans promo,
which will give 100 OFWs a chance to visit
their loved ones back in the Philippines.
“
The 100 Lucky Juans promo is our way of
recognizing OFWs’ hard work and significant
contributions to the country. Their coming
home on our maiden Dubai-Manila flight
signifies Cebu Pacific’s good news — they
can now come home more often,” said CEB
President and CEO Lance Gokongwei.
The 100 Lucky Juans promo is open to all
Filipinos working in the Middle East, aged
21–65
years old. Contestants should be
subscribers of GMA International Channels
and have not been back to the Philippines for
at least one year.
To join, contestants should simply “like”
Cebu Pacific’s official Facebook page, click
on the 100 Lucky Juans application, and
answer the question: “How will I make
my homecoming in the Philippines fun?”
Answers may be in the format of a photo
collage, a two-minute video or an essay of
200
words or less. Entries will be accepted
until August 18, 2013, and judged based on
creativity, adherence to the theme and the
number of “likes” it will garner on Facebook.
The contestant’s length of stay in the Middle
East will also be a factor in the results.
Winners will be announced weekly
beginning June 3 until September 2, 2013.
They will fly back to the Philippines on
October 7, 2013 on the inaugural flight of
Cebu Pacific’s direct service from Dubai to
Manila. They can use their return ticket to
Dubai anytime until November 30, 2013.
