Face your
fears
Plan of action:
Leap off a cave
The only way to get over a fear of something is to simply
confront it. Mark the decision to toughen up with a symbolic
leap into the unknown. Try Sohoton Cove in Bucas Grande
Islands. Upon entering Magkukuob Cave, admire its
impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations, and do
whatever you need — pray, meditate, sing — to keep calm.
The only way out of the cave is to jump off a platform about
20
ft above water. It’s nerve wracking, but we’re pretty sure
you’ll feel so empowered after you do it that you might even
want to go spelunking at the other caves in the area.

Immerse in
something new
Plan of action:
Take an educational tour of the
Philippine Eagle Center
Learn about the endangered Philippine eagle and understand
why protecting it is worthwhile. The Philippine Eagle Center
in Davao has 36 eagles under its care. Aside from tours, they
conduct lectures on the Philippine Eagle Foundation and its
conservation, research, captive breeding and community-
based programs. There are also keeper talks, where
caretakers share interesting facts about the eagles at the
center.
