“It’s a small world after all” translates
very well into Cantonese, as any visitor
to Hong Kong Disneyland can tell you.
The park is designed to enfold Chinese
culture seamlessly into the Disney
experience. Exploring Main Street,
USA, for instance, you might bump into
Minnie Mouse wearing a cheongsam
and speaking fluently in both English
and Cantonese.
Hong Kong Disneyland is smaller
than its American namesake, but it
crams plenty of fantasy-fueled fun into
its 27-hectare space nonetheless. One
of its newer areas, Toy Story Land,
provides a toy’s-eye view and tour of
Sheriff Woody and Buzz Lightyear’s
backyard. A Sheriff Woody statue
towers over you as you line up for the
area’s adrenaline-infused rides.

Hong Kong
Lines are as long as you’d expect
for Disneyland, but the park’s Fastpass
system lets you save your place in any
line while you explore elsewhere. Just
come back a few minutes before the
ride’s scheduled time.
Hong Kong Disneyland is accessible
via Hong Kong’s light rail network
(MTR); ride the Tung Chung Line to
Sunny Bay Station and change to the
Disneyland Resort Line. Alternatively,
buses on routes R11, R22, R33 and
R42 operate daily from Hong Kong
Island to Hong Kong Disneyland and
vice versa.
